Sometimes, I love sharing some older work from the archives. Sometimes, it shows the progression and the direction your art is taking, and an evolution, and sometimes it is just a great way to revisit some of the older shoots and use them as an inspiration for the new shoots. In this post, I’m sharing a few older photos from one of my Ukrainian trips. A little story of the tree where I chose to focus on the texture. The pictures were shot in Trostyanets Park in Chernihiv region (Northern Ukraine).
It is important for us, photographers, to sometimes step aside from our usual type of work and experiment by shooting something new, or something that is not your usual genre at all. To me, as a portrait photographer who absolutely loves photographing people, street photography as well as some experimental and attempts at abstract photography became a way to experiment and have fun.
Looking at your own older photographs helps you see where you were before, where you stand now, and where you’re heading on your creative path, be that genres, styles, or a subject matter. In addition to that, looking through your archives sometimes can inspire you to shoot some new work as well, so maybe soon you’ll see a new story about trees in my blog.
