Our gods are dark. They live, they love, they bleed, and they die ©.
This series was shot as an homage to my pagan heritage, and is a part of my photographic exploration of the pagan culture and the balance and harmony it teaches us. The Nature is a temple, and everyone and everything here is a part of this world, a part of the Universe, and one should never forget it and strive for this balance and harmony, no matter what one believes. The nature heals, and it inspires when we’re stuck.
This series is dedicated to water. To its fluidity, to its depths where the ideas are born. Water is movement, water is life itself, and whenever one feels thirsty for knowledge and inspiration one can always come to the water and spend some time there in thought and meditation. Water possess the power of calming the passions and making you still.
And it was not a surprise to me that this little and nice walk in High Park (Toronto, ON) which is so immense that it truly feels like a real forest enclosed within the hustle and bustle of a big city, would help me get unstuck and inspired for doing something creative again. This is an ongoing series that I’m planning on shooting for some time and sharing here, and it is also another great proof of an importance of art and its healing nature. Not to mention the fact that even this departure from my usual photography work felt like a touch of fresh air after a thunderstorm that really helped me unlock what was being blocked inside for quite a while. And I hope this post which is more about the visuals than words (even though I am actually a journalist and writer as well) will help inspire someone who feels stuck to get out there in this big and beautiful world and try something new to spark the fire of creativity again. More photos are coming in the next posts.
